08 June 2022 – 10:00-11:30 CET
21 June 2022
NGO consultation 2022 1

UNHCR has established an informal NGO Reference Group comprised of representatives from global and regional NGO networks, which will serve as a consultative mechanism for the preparations of the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) in 2023. Representation from a diverse range of global and regional networks will strengthen communication and engagement with global and local NGOs, including civil society, faith-based, and refugee-led organizations.

The reference group was launched by Gillian Triggs, the Assistant High Commissioner for Protection, during a side event at the annual UNHCR global consultations with non-governmental organizations (NGOs).  The event was moderated by Manisha Thomas, Geneva Representative for the Women Refugee Commission, and the panel included Naya Dagher, MENA Civil Society Network for Displacement, Chris Nash, Director of the European Network on Statelessness (ENS), and Hafsar Tameesuddin, Chair of the Asia-Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APPRN).

To find out more about the objectives of the Group, it’s agenda, and current members, you can read the Terms of Reference or watch the recording of the session below.
