Consultations on Draft Political Declaration on use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas

The next consultations for a political declaration against the use of explosive weapons in populated areas will take place from 6 to 8 April 2022, at the Palais des Nations, in Geneva. The consultations will bring together representatives of States, United Nations agencies, international organizations and civil society to finalize the text of an international agreement (political declaration) aimed at prohibiting the use of heavy explosive weapons in populated areas.

This will be the third round of face-to-face consultations to negotiate the text of the international agreement following discussions in November 2019 and February 2020. 70 countries had participated in these first negotiations.
