Localisation Barometer WCA Regional Report 2024-2025
🌍 Led by FONGA, Forum of NGOs in West and Central #Africa (WCA), the Localisation Barometer 🧭 is a regional initiative designed to monitor and strengthen efforts to shift humanitarian action toward greater local leadership in countries covered.
Originally launched by ICVA Network, with support from the USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), the project is now coordinated by FONGA to ensure regional ownership and long-term sustainability.
Implemented through partner national NGO forums in 8 locations – Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo – the Barometer combines quantitative and qualitative analysis 📊🔍 to track progress in advancing the localisation agenda, identify gaps and challenges, examine emerging trends, set priorities, along with providing comparative insights across countries and over time, to inform advocacy and strategies.
Backed by NORCAP - part of the Norwegian Refugee Council, European Commission ECHO, Sahel Regional Fund (SRF), and Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH), it is the result of a broad collective undertaking within the humanitarian and development community – donors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, among other actors – mobilised to work together in promoting more resilient and locally anchored aid.
